Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds and can treat a variety of common conditions, including changes to posture in pregnancy, babies with colic or restlessness, people of all ages for neck or back pain, work-related injuries, pain caused by arthritis, and sports injuries.

Our government-registered, fully qualified Osteopaths use a broad range of manual therapy techniques, including stretching, mobilising and manipulative techniques, the cranial osteopathic approach, and teaching you how to prevent illness and injury through maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

Our aim is to restore your body’s natural abilities to heal, by using a combination of hands-on treatment methods with advice on lifestyle, posture, stress, diet and exercise.

What is Osteopathy?
Do any of these apply to you?

Osteopathy is a way of detecting and treating damaged parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints.

When the body is balanced and efficient, it will function with the minimum of wear and stress, and therefore with reduced pain and disability.

This leaves you with more energy for living.

  • Back pain, Neck Pain
  • Migraine, Headache
  • Arthritic Symptoms
  • Whiplash, Workplace Injuries
  • Muscle or ligament strains
  • Sports or overuse strain injuries
  • Golf and tennis related injuries
  • Pregnancy/Childbirth
  • TMJ (Jaw) dysfunction

Osteopathy can help with all of these conditions, as well as many childhood problems.

What to expect from a visit to an osteopath?

Osteopaths undergo rigorous training and are qualified to use a wide range of proven, safe and non-invasive techniques, including:

  • Soft Tissue Massage
  • Muscle Stretching
  • Gentle Joint Articulation and Mobilisation
  • Manipulation
  • Cranial Osteopathic approach
  • Advice on diet, exercise and posture

In addition, there is a range of gentle, non-manipulative techniques that can help with visceral or internal organ conditions in people of all ages.

In Australia, Osteopathy has been practised since 1909 and is recognised as a discrete medical discipline.  Osteopaths are statutorily registered after completing a five-year, full-time university training.  Osteopathy is widely practised throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, New Zealand and the United States.

Osteopathic treatment attracts rebates from all private health funds and a Doctor’s referral is not necessary.

We offer the convenient HICAPS system, enabling you to claim the cost of your treatment from your Health Fund immediately, without having to queue or complete any forms.

Gold Coast Osteopathy also welcomes Veterans Affairs, WorkCover and Enhanced Primary Care Plan patients - in these cases a Doctor’s referral is required.
